Books By Mail is a free service that provides library materials to Cobb County residents who are unable to visit the library because of a physical disability, long-term illness, and/or lack of transportation.

Select up to four items at a time (books, books on CD, DVDs in any combination) and we will mail them to your home with pre-paid return postage provided.

The circulation period is 9 weeks from the date your request is submitted. This includes the time it takes for the items to be mailed to you and returned through the mail to us. Due dates will be provided.

Pre-paid return postage will be provided. There is no cost to you.

Books By Mail is made possible from grant funding obtained through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

Library PASS accounts are not currently eligible to be used for Books by Mail.

If you would like to participate in our Books By Mail program, please fill out this one-time application. 

Once your registration is processed, you will receive your first Books By Mail delivery within two weeks of submitting your request for items (see below) including information on how to return your items.

We only mail one batch of items (4 item maximum) at a time. We will send out another batch of items once the previous batch of items is mailed back to the library and after you have provided us with a new submission request.

There are two ways to request items:

2. Use our online form and submit your requests electronically.

If you want a specific title, please use our catalog to make sure it is an item that we carry before submitting your choices. We are only able to lend items that are in our collection. Our catalog can be found at http://cbpl.ent.sirsi.net/

Books by Mail can only send materials with copies that are currently AVAILABLE and are part of our collection at the time of your submission. Many of our popular items are already checked out and are unavailable through Books by Mail due to patron hold lists. If possible, please use our catalog to determine an item's availability.

You may return your items through the mail at any time to request more items.
