Cancer Insurance

Benefits at a Glance

Employees of Cobb County can apply for a Cancer Care Plan with Aflac.  And with Aflac's cancer policy, employees can choose the type of coverage you want and pay for it through the convenience of payroll deduction. Because premiums are paid on a pre-tax basis, this saves even more tax dollars. Moreover, the policy pays benefits regardless of any other insurance you may have. Benefits are paid direct to employees, unless otherwise assigned.

Individual Life Insurance

Employees can enroll in an Individual Life Insurance plan insured by Unum, offering Term Life Insurance, as well as Whole Life Insurance, for yourself and family members. When you retire or terminate employment with Cobb County Government, you simply pay the same premium rate directly to the company rather than on payroll deductions.

10-YEAR INDIVIDUAL TERM INSURANCE

The 10/10/YRT plan design is composed of two consecutive 10-year level premium periods. The first 10-year guaranteed level premium period is based on the insured individual’s age at policy issue. The second 10-year guaranteed level premium period reflects rates for the insured individual’s attained age at the 11th year. The second 10-year period is not available beyond an original issue age of 60. At the end of the level period, the contract moves to a Yearly Renewable Term (YRT) phase, which also provides guaranteed rates. The policy is guaranteed renewable to age 95.

Individual Whole Life Insurance

Polices are guaranteed to have premiums and death benefit to remain level. They do not change as you get older. Most financial planners agree that a well-rounded portfolio includes at least some permanent life insurance, such as Whole Life.
