Absentee Voting

By Mail

  1. Apply for an Absentee Ballot by downloading the Absentee Ballot Application. (See below for options)
  2. For military and overseas citizens, download the Federal Post Card Application.
  3. You may apply for a ballot for a relative who is disabled or out of town, but that ballot will be mailed directly to the voter.
  4. Fill out the application completely confirming all appropriate fields are answered and a physically signature or mark is provided by the first black arrow indicator. If the application is requested by a relative, a signature or mark should be provided by the second black arrow indicator.
  5. Send in the application via:

  6. After the application is reviewed, an Absentee Ballot will be mailed to your address.
  7. Once you have received the Ballot and cast your vote, submit the ballot via:
    1. Mail:

  8. Once ballot has been mailed, it can no longer be cancelled.
  9. Cobb Elections office must receive your hand delivered ballot by 7 p.m. election night. If the ballot is mailed, it must be postmarked on or before election day and received by the Cobb Election office within three (3) days following the election.

Can You Vote Absentee?

In order to vote in U.S. elections you must be:

  • a U.S. citizen.
  • at least 18 years old.
  • be absent from your voting residence.

The absentee voting process applies to you if you are:

  • an active duty member of the Uniformed Services or Merchant Marine;
  • an eligible spouse or family member of an active duty member of the Uniformed Services or Merchant Marine; or
  • a U.S. citizen residing outside the U.S.

  • Visit the Georgia My Voter Page (MVP)
  • In the Login section, provide your name, county of residence, and date of birth
  • On the My Voter Page, review the 'Absentee Ballot Request Information' section to click on the 'Click here for Absentee Ballot status' link

Cancel Your Ballot

If you desire to cancel your Absentee Ballot, please print and complete the Affidavit of Cancelled Absentee Ballot. Please note an Absentee Ballot can no longer be cancelled once it has been mailed.

Complete the form filling out the appropriate fields and confirming a physical signature is provided. A copied and pasted signature is not acceptable.
