Elections Specialist II (Part-Time)
Supervision of seasonal or other part-time staff, assigning and monitoring work, coordinating their activities, resolving conflicts, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
Maintains inventory of election equipment and supplies and office supplies: updates and inventories election equipment after each election; and maintains inventory of supplies needed to conduct day-to-day work activities.
Performs duties related to elections: assists in hiring, training and managing of temporary employees; plans and executes delivery of supplies and equipment; ensures all necessary signs, supplies, and equipment are provided to each polling site; ensures that Election Recap Sheets and other election evidence is audited and retained as required.
Assists in preparing and distributing election supplies and equipment for polling locations: assists in developing a delivery and collection schedule; prepares, gathers and stages various supplies and equipment for delivery using physical strength and tools such as a forklift; conducts loading, unloading, and return of same; assists in the Logic and Accuracy testing of equipment; inspects returning supplies and equipment; repairs damaged machines and supplies or contacts vendor for same; and performs various pre-, post- and day-of election duties.
Prepares election materials: utilizes checklists to sort, count, gather, collate, inspect and verify election supplies; generates spreadsheets or reports from various information sources.
Reports machine and computer problems as they occur, tests elections equipment, and troubleshoots election equipment as needed.
Assists with the coordination of election activities.
Administrative: maintains election-related forms, checklists, spreadsheets and site diagrams.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Cobb County Elections and Registration is currently seeking and scheduling drivers for delivery and pickup of voting equipment for the 2020 Election Year.
Drivers will be responsible for loading and unloading the trucks as well as transporting election supplies to and from the polling facilities. Cobb County Elections & Registration utilize rented 16' and 26’ trucks with teams of 3-4 people per route. There are eight (8) dates to choose from for each election, five (5) dates for equipment delivery prior to the election and three (3) dates for equipment pick-up after an election.
- Hourly wage: $17.00/hour
- Hours: generally 7:30am - 4:00pm, dependent on workload/traffic
- Location: Kennesaw, GA.
- Scheduled Delivery and Pickup dates are:
- March 12th - March 13th
- March 17th - March 23rd
- March 25th - March 27th
- The ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Clean motor vehicle record/background check
- Must be willing to sign a custodial oath for the equipment.
- Must attend a safety briefing administered by our Risk Management department
