Communications Intern
Cobb County Elections & Registration is currently seeking a Communications Intern
This classification is designed for qualified graduating seniors, undergraduate students, or graduate students whose educational interests and abilities can be effectively utilized in government service.
The Elections Department is seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public relations, social media management, and content creation, with a focus on electoral processes and voter engagement.
The intern will play an active role in voter education and outreach efforts, including participation in community events—some of which may occur during evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the creation of marketing materials, press releases, newsletters, blog posts, and social media content that support elections and department initiatives.
- Providing logistical support for departmental events, including planning, promotion, and on-site coordination.

Election Day Technicians and Advance in Person Couriers
Cobb County Elections & Registration is currently seeking Election Day Technicians and Advance in Person Couriers.
Technician and Courier Hours:
Election Day schedule begins at 6:00 am - 8:00 pm
Advance in Person Couriers: 7 days a week, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
- A technician (formally known as a troubleshooter) serves multiple purposes for the Cobb County Elections management team:
- They assist poll managers and area supervisors with polling equipment
- Easy equipment troubleshooting
- Swapping out/delivery of replacement equipment,
- Assisting by being an extra set of hands for a poll manager to open and close a polling location
- Delivery of critical/necessary paperwork
- Assist the Cobb Elections management team
- Being an extra set of eyes and ears to what is going on
- Is there construction prohibiting a smooth entrance into a polling location
- Are candidates campaigning or approaching voters
- Are there traffic jams or unsafe conditions for drivers, or pedestrians at a polling location?
- Visit each polling location within your assigned route at least once/preferably twice
- Document equipment issues on provided forms
- Document site survey issues for each polling location within your assigned route
- Provide feedback on technician checklists as a polling location is visited
- Communicate immediate issues/roadblocks to management
- They assist poll managers and area supervisors with polling equipment
