Tobacco Litter

Cigarette butts in street

Tobacco litter impacts everyone. Keep America Beautiful has noted that 38% of all roadside litter is cigarette butts. Did you know that when cigarette butts come in contact with rainwater, that water becomes polluted, a sort-of tobacco tea? This can create a toxic environment in our streams for fish and other wildlife.

If you yourself use tobacco products, use an ashtray and dispose of the waste in a trash receptacle.   Encourage others to do the same.  It will help make a healthier environment for all.
