To receive a certified copy of a marriage license issued in Cobb County:
- You have the option of ordering a certified copy of your marriage license and/or a certified copy of your marriage application.
- Typically, you only need a certified copy of your application when it is specifically requested by an agency or when either party has decided to hyphenate their last name. Most people request a certified copy of their marriage license only.
- If the date of marriage is prior to May 1973, marriage records cannot be ordered online.

Your correspondence should include the names of both parties and the date of the ceremony. You will need to provide a self-addressed stamped envelope with your request.
