District Attorney Allen is the first African American woman to be elected as Cobb County District Attorney. With over 30 years of legal experience and deep roots here in Cobb County,  Allen is a committed public servant, proud mother and a fearless advocate for justice.

She has comprehensive, diverse legal experience and an extensive knowledge of developing legal strategies for complex cases, as well as the administrative, budget management and supervisory experience required to effectively manage one of Georgia’s largest district attorney’s offices.

A graduate of the University of West Georgia and John Marshall Law School, she served as Deputy District Attorney in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Anti-Corruption Division and was a 30-year veteran of the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout her career, she has proven the  ability to quickly master the nuances of the many different and diverse areas of one of Georgia’s largest agencies. This paved the way for her to become the first and highest ranking African American in the history of Cobb County law enforcement, opening doors for the next generation of Cobb leadership.

She is experienced in handling high-profile criminal and public corruption cases, interviewing tough witnesses and evaluating evidence for prosecution. She has been involved in the prosecution of hundreds of cases throughout her legal career.

Beyond her legal career, she is an active member of her community, serving as a gymnastics judge for the Georgia High School Association-Varsity Sports and participating on several local volunteer committees and programs throughout Cobb County. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, cherishing the sisterhood and the opportunities it provides to serve and connect with amazing women globally.
