Stormwater Code & Funding Updates

The Cobb County Water System Director, Judy Jones, recently presented information on stormwater services and fees. The Water System is proposing to change from charging for stormwater through water and sewer fees to charging a dedicated stormwater fee based on the amount of impervious surface (rooftops, pavement, etc.). The proposed fee structure ensures properties that generate more stormwater runoff volume pay for their share of impact to the stormwater system. Implementing this change requires code amendments and Board of Commissioner approval. Two public hearings on the proposed code changes were held in March.
