Ella Chesser of North Cobb Christian School represented Cobb County and was a finalist at the 19th annual Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District Middle School Essay Contest!
The Metro Water District’s Essay Contest challenges middle school students to think critically about our region’s water resources and raises awareness for conservation and preservation of water quality and quantity in metro Atlanta. This year, students were confronted with linking our water resources to our global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Why is access to clean water so critical during a pandemic? What are some of the essential water jobs needed to deliver safe drinking water to our communities? These were the two questions our middle school students were challenged to tackle this year.
The contest had over 600 submissions from fifteen different counties within metro-Atlanta region. Ella Chesser, from North Cobb Christian School, was selected as Cobb County’s finalist and was recognized for her achievement alongside her peers at the virtual regional contest reception on January 21st.
