Do I automatically qualify for Medicare when I turn 65 yrs old?
You must call the local Social Security office (800) 772-1213 to verify if you qualify based on the number of quarters (years) you have worked.
Where do I apply for Medicaid?
- If you have children you can apply at the Department of Family and Children Services.
- If you are an adult under the age of 65 yrs old you must apply with Social Security for Disability.
- If you are 65 yrs old, or disabled and Social Security denied your application, then you can apply thru Medicaid for limited coverage.
Can an assessment for services be completed over the telephone?
Assessments can only be completed face-to-face with the potential client and the Program Leader. Interviews are usually scheduled between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
