The Water Quality Laboratory works closely with the Industrial Pretreatment staff, ensuring accurate and timely results for compliance and surcharge samples collected at the Cobb County’s permitted industrial facilities.

Results for compliance samples are used to ensure each permitted facility discharging into the sewer system is meeting limits established within their permit issued through the Industrial Pretreatment Program.  Surcharge samples are used to assess additional charges to industrial users that discharge wastewater exceeding the domestic limit for BOD, TSS, Ammonia, and Phosphorus.
