Meet Ruby! Switzer Library "adopted" Ruby through the Georgia Foundation for Agriculture and Georgia Farm Bureau's Adopt-A-Cow program. The program pairs classrooms or libraries with a calf from a Georgia dairy farm to provide a real life look into dairy farming.

Ruby is a Red and White Holstein heifer (a female calf). She was born on September 12, 2022 at Big Sandy Creek Dairy in Madison, GA. She weighed 55 lbs at birth! How much did you weigh when you were born? How much more did Ruby weigh?

Our Switzer Library Youth Services team will be creating program opportunities to help Cobb’s kids get to know Ruby. Check back for details!

Who's the Most Kissable Calf?

Discover Dairy’s Adopt a Cow program has been “love at first moo” for classrooms (and libraries!) across the globe! This February, join us for a fun contest to help share the love. Click the button below to vote for the most kissable calf. At the end of February, we will announce the winner of the “most kissable calf” contest, and the winning calf and her host family will receive a calf care package!
