How can I pick up my books?
Beginning Monday, December 21, 2020, all Cobb County libraries previously open under limited services will be closed until further notice. East Cobb, Gritters, Kemp, Mountain View, North Cobb, Powder Springs, Sewell Mill, Sibley, Vinings, and West Cobb are providing Curbside Hold Pickup only.
What if my items are due? Will I accrue late fees?
The library currently is not charging late fees and has not since the library temporarily closed in mid-March. This includes DVDs, Wi-Fi Hotspots, Interlibrary Loans, Park Passes, and everything else we circulate. You will continue to receive overdue notices as reminders if material if past due, but charges will not accrue.
Fines are accruing on my account!
If you notice fines accruing on items, rest assured that they will clear themselves within 12 hours. The system is set to automatically clear them.
Can I drop off my materials in outdoor book drops?
Outdoor book drops at all library locations with the exception of Switzer Library will be open. Please note that returned items will be placed in quarantine directly from book drops. Items will remain on your account for up to 5 days. Items will be checked in and your account updated after items come out of quarantine.
Indoor book drops will remain closed to maintain the integrity of the quarantine process. However, Book Club Kits and items that do not fit in outdoor book drops may be brought into the building and deposited into a receptacle provided by staff, which will be taken to the quarantine area.
Are you accepting donations?
No, donations will not be accepted at any of our library locations until further notice.
Are there any library resources I can use while branches are closed?
Yes! The library provides a wide array of digital offerings, including eBooks, research databases, and access to a multitude of online resources. Please visit our Research and Digital page to get started.
My library card is about to expire. How can I renew?
If you used your library card any time in 2020, it has been renewed to June 20, 2021. If you last used your card in 2019, it has been renewed at least to December 31, 2020.
Are you still doing Interlibrary Loans?
No. We are currently NOT taking any new outside Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests. ILL books that are currently checked out to patrons were due back June 19. There will NOT be any late fees associated with ILLs during this time.
