Are libraries open yet?

Yes! As of June 1, 2021, all 15 Cobb County libraries are open for in-person service.

Do I need to wear a mask?

Yes, after meeting with public health officials, Cobb's County Manager instituted a mask requirement for county facilities including libraries beginning Thursday, December 23, 2021.

Is there a way to pick up books without going inside?

Yes! All libraries have a Curbside Hold Pickup option. For more information, click here.

Can I drop off my materials in outdoor book drops?

Outdoor and indoor book drops are open at all library locations.

What if my items are due? Will I accrue late fees?

The library currently is not charging late fees and has not since the library temporarily closed in mid-March 2020. This includes DVDs, Wi-Fi Hotspots, Interlibrary Loans, Park Passes, and everything else we circulate. You will continue to receive overdue notices as reminders if material if past due, but charges will not accrue.

Fines are accruing on my account!

If you notice fines accruing on items, rest assured that they will clear themselves within 12 hours. The system is set to automatically clear them.

My library card is about to expire. How can I renew?

You may renew in person at any library. Please bring a photo id and proof of current address. You may also contact Customer Service for assistance, contactus@cobbcat.org.
 

Are there library resources I can use even if I don’t want to visit a library in-person?

Yes! The library provides a wide array of digital offerings for all ages, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, streaming video, digital magazines, comics, newspapers, online databases, and so much more. Visit our Research and Digital page to get started.

Can I get information assistance or a reading recommendation without going inside the library?

Absolutely! If you need a good read recommendation, research assistance, or a question about your account, call your branch library during operating hours. You can also send in your questions any time of day to our virtual reference service Ask-A-Librarian.

Are you still doing Interlibrary Loans?

Yes! Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service resumed in January 2021. Contact your local library for assistance.   

Are you accepting donations?

Yes! The library began accepting donations again on June 1, 2021.
