Spring Book Sale March 8 - 10 at Cobb Civic Center

Cobb Libraries Spring Book Sale, Friday - Sunday, March 8 - 10 at the Cobb Civic Center, 548 South Marietta Parkway SE, Marietta.

Books for all ages, DVDs, CDs, Books on CD and cassette, magazines, vinyl records and puzzles. Profits go to purchasing more items for the Library's 15 branches and the bookmobile.

Bring bags, boxes, carts, wagons and take it away!

Sunday is a flat rate per box that you can carry out.

Booked for the Evening Gala, Cobb Library Foundation

Join the Cobb Library Foundation for a night of elegance and fun at the stunning Atlanta Country Club. Author of the Year Carmen Agra Deedy and the honorary chair, former Governor Nathan Deal, will be featured at this exclusive event. Formal attire is required. By purchasing a ticket, you'll be supporting crucial library programs, unique spaces, equipment, and more.

Thursday, March 14 

Let’s talk business at Coffee & Conversations Thursday, March 14 from 8 - 9:30 a.m. at Thumbs Up Diner, 2615 East-West Connector Suite 100, Austell. The event hosted by Cobb County Economic Development gives you the opportunity to talk with business owners, entrepreneurs, and startups and connect with county staff.  Please RSVP by Monday, March 11.

Thursday, March 14

Friends and Family CPR - Take time to learn to save loved ones in an emergency at Family and Friends CPR. This course will teach you lifesaving CPR for adults, children, and babies and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator, also known as an AED. You will also learn basic techniques for helping someone who is choking.

The last date is at 1:30 p.m. on  Thursday, March 14.

Note: This course does NOT offer an American Heart Association completion card. A $10 non-refundable registration fee per person to reserve your seat exists. The Cobb County Safety Village is at 1220 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta.

Join Cobb Police - Hiring Event, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Cobb County Public Safety Training Center, 2425 East-West Connector, Austell
Applications preferred before the event on our website here, but can also apply in person, on site.
Applicants will be able to complete the following steps in the hiring process:

  • Physical Agility Test
  • Interview with investigator
  • Polygraph
  • Schedule Psychological Exam
  • Schedule Medical Exam

Dress in comfortable athletic clothing. It is optional to change into business attire, but not necessary.

Beeping Egg Hunt - provided by Cobb's Bomb Team, 9 - 11 a.m. at Horizon Field - Acworth Sports Complex, 4000 S. Main Street, Acworth.  This one-of-a-kind Easter Egg Hunt is designed specifically for visually impaired children 5 - 21 years old. Smyrna - Easter after Dark  
The city of Smyrna hosts Easter After Dark 6 - 9 p.m.  March 23. Don’t miss out on glow-in-the-dark egg hunts for all ages and a showing of the 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! You can register at

Make strides along the Noonday Creek Trail at the Annual Noonday Shanty 5&10K!

Dive into a world of creativity at the inaugural Cobb PARKS Spring Arts Festival on April 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jim R Miller Park and Events Center. This festival will feature retailers and artists and will showcase handmade goods, fine arts, performing arts, and more.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
at Swift-Cantrell Park, 3140 Old 41 Highway, Kennesaw

Join this men's march to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence. hosted by Cobb County Domestic Violence Task Force, Kennesaw Police Department, and Kennesaw Public Safety Foundation. This year the chosen beneficiary is the Cobb Family Advocacy Center. The FAC provides comprehensive services to victims of abuse through the collaboration of community partners in a central location.
