MARCH

Tax exemptions time -  As a Cobb resident, all you need to file for a basic homestead exemption is proof of residency. If you’re filing online, attach a copy of your Georgia driver’s license or Georgia government-issued ID for all applicants. Learn more and apply online at CobbTax.org by April 1.

FEBRUARY - APRIL - TAX HELP

Get assistance preparing your taxes. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is providing free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service at Cobb libraries. Find more details and links to make appointments here. 

SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPEN

Register for Cobb County Summer Camps. These popular programs fill up quickly.  Find registration and more information for Cobb Summer Camps here. 

  • History Camp at Green Meadows Preserve registration opens. Camp runs June 2 - 5.  
  • Recreation Center Camps run for one week each, June 2 – Aug. 1 
  • Nature Camp at Hyde Farm Park, June 23 - 27, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for grades 3 - 5.  
  • Mountain Biking Camp - July 7-10 at Allatoona Creek Park
  • Art Center Camps - art and theatre camps
  • Little Mermaid Theater Camp -2-week intensive-  July 7-18 with performances,  at Sewell Mill Arts Center. Register online at cobbcounty.org/sewellmill.
  • Cobb Therapeutics Camp Horizon  - Registration opens at noon -A highly mobile indoor/outdoor camp for ages 7-21 with developmental, mental, and physical disabilities. Activities include arts, nature, music, sports, swimming, pet therapy, and dance. Campers are grouped for comfort and participation. One-on-one care is not available. New campers require a preregistration assessment (appointments available weekdays until 5 p.m.). Contact: Matt Ulmer 770-528-2569.
  • Tennis & Pickleball Camps - Tennis Camps are available at six Cobb tennis centers. Registration is already open at these centers:
  • Pickleball Camps are offered at Harrison Tennis Center for adults and youth (ages 9+).
  • Golf camps - one-week camps at Cobblestone Golf Course June 10 - July 25. More information here.

SATURDAY, MARCH 15

🏀🔥March Madness is fire🔥🏀Show off your skills and rule the court at Boots Ward Recreation Center, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15th. For all ages. $2 per person. Register here.

National Quilt Day and Make Your Own Masterpiece quilt exhibit reception - noon - 2 p.m. at Sewell Mill Library. Refreshments, youth activites and more.

Amphibian Workshop, 4 - 8 p.m. at Hyde Farm Park. Learn to identify frogs, toads, and salamanders by their habitat, morphology, and vocalizations. Register here.

Six Flags & Hurricane Harbor opens for the season.

🎵Smyrna - Relax and enjoy live, free music at Smyrna's Blanket Concert Series, where music meets comfort! All concerts are 6:30 - 8:30pm with no registration required. Just bring a blanket and enjoy the music. Mudcat will kick off the series on March 15, 6:30pm - 8:30 at the Reed House Event Garden.

eBay Basics - Sell Like a Pro - Turn clutter into cash! Free two-part workshop - learn how to sell successfully on eBay,6 - 7:30 p.m. Monday, March  17 at Switzer Library, 266 Roswell Street, Marietta. Register here.

FRIDAY, MARCH 21

Come dance, socialize and have a good time with food, prizes, a dance contest and more at the 2nd annual Sneaker Ball , 6 - 9 p.m. at Ron Anderson Rec Center. All ages. Register here with code #45555.

AYTEF Tennis Block Party, 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Fair Oaks Tennis Center. Free. Ages 5 - 13.

Georgia Food + Wine Festival at Jim R. Miller Park -celebrate the best of Georgia and the South, from its culinary superstars and beverage experts, to farmers, artisans, live musicians and more.

Friday, March 21, 7:30 - 9 p.m. - Fired-up - an evening celebrating everything grilled, smoked, barbecued and more. Vegetarian dishes available as well. Silent Auction, benefitting SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center


Saturday, March 22, 1 - 4 p.m. - Savor - sumptuous food and drink, with some of Georgia’s best chefs, restaurants and more offering a variety of delicious bites.


Sunday Funday, March 23, noon - 5 p.m. - Family Day - live music and a variety of delectable restaurants, farmers, artisans, kids zone and food trucks.

FED: Focus, Energy, Direction,  at the Mable House Arts Center. This two-day adult retreat for self-care through arts, nature, and mindful movement.

Help remove litter in the Powers Ferry Corridor

WEDNESDAY - THURSDAY, APRIL 2 - 3 

ServSafe® Manager Certification Class - training required to ensure food safety compliance. Earn a five-year certification recognized by most state and local health jurisdictions. Class held at the UGA Cobb County Extension, 678 S. Cobb Dr., Marietta

FRIDAY, APRIL 4

The new Cobb Police Precinct 6 will open its doors in April. The community is invited to a Ribbon Cutting 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, at 3141 Hong Way, Marietta, near the Mountain View Aquatic Center. After the ceremony, you can tour the new facility, meet your police officers, and learn about the police services available at Precinct 6.

APRIL 7 - 11

Cobb County has art and activity spring break camps to keep your children engaged over the school vacation week in April. Find more information and register here.
