Congratulations to Cobb County litigator Laura Murphree on winning the Thomas J. Charron Public Service Award. The award recognizes a Cobb County Bar Association member dedicated to a full-time practice in prosecution, public interest, education, or government service who has attained a record of extraordinary achievement and a reputation for excellence and trust. The award was bestowed upon her by County Attorney Bill Rowling at the Law Day Awards Luncheon.

At the same event, Cobb County State Court Judge John S. Morgan received the Cobb County Trial Lawyers Association Judge A. Harris Adams Justice Award.

The Bar Association awarded the Public Safety Officer of the Year Award to Deputies Lossings and Hudgins of the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 8, 2022, Deputies Lossings and Hudgins went to the aid of fallen deputies while disregarding their own safety under a direct threat of hostile fire. The Cobb County Bar Association annually recognizes individuals who positively impact the judicial system and the rule of law at their annual Cobb County Bar Association Law Day Luncheon.
