Have you ever felt that your children know more about safety than you do? If this is the case, it is probably because of the Cobb County Safety Village! The Safety Village hosts programs for school kids from Cobb County and the surrounding area.

Opened in August of 2009 at 1220 Al Bishop Drive, the Cobb County Safety Village was born of an effort which began in 1978 by the Public Fire and Life Safety division of the Cobb County Fire Department to provide educational opportunities and other safety programs to the citizens of Cobb County. Since then, the Safety Village has been carrying out the Public Fire and Life Safety division’s mission through a variety of informative, interactive and memorable programs. At the Safety Village, their philosophy is simple:

  • Tell me and I will forget;
  • Show me and I may remember;
  • Involve me and I will learn for a lifetime.

If you‘re not already feeling fortunate to live in Cobb County, here’s another reason. The Cobb County Safety Village is one of only 14 facilities of its type in the United States and is the only one in Georgia! Here’s yet another reason; the Safety Village has information and programs for everyone. Learn what your kids know: The Safety Village offers everything from assisting with fire alarm batteries to putting on custom presentations for your group at your location or at the Safety Village.

For more information about all that is available to you, visit the Cobb County Safety Village website at:    Safety Village | Cobb County Georgia.  To learn about how to request a Safety Program or maybe a fire station tour for your group, go to: [Cobb County Government] Safety Education Program Request (seamlessdocs.com).

Winter is the time of year when home fires are at their worst. Please take advantage of this information to keep yourself and your family safe!
