Town Halls Scheduled Across Cobb!

Spring is Town Hall season in Cobb County, with multiple community meetings scheduled on a variety of topics.  Issues will range from transportation issues to COVID vaccinations.  We urge you to get involved and attend one of these upcoming events.

Tuesday, May 11, 5:00 - 6:30 pm
Comprehensive Transportation Plan virtual meeting. 

New technologies and transportation solutions are available that can enhance and transform Cobb’s future transportation system. To leverage these new tools and strategies, Cobb and our cities are embarking on CobbForward, the county's Comprehensive Transportation Plan for 2050. Your feedback and participation will help shape the future of transportation investments for the next 30 years.

District 3 Town Hall, hosted by Commissioner JoAnn K. Birrell
Cobb County Civic Center, 548 South Marietta Parkway SE, Marietta

The town hall will feature Department of Transportation staff and highlight outreach for the Comprehensive Transportation Plan update. Participants will learn how to get involved in planning our transportation system and weighing in on how the county invests in transportation. Find out how to report issues directly to DOT staff with one click and establish two-way communication with staff about issues important to your quality of life. Learn about DOT-related projects and construction in your district and how to access updated information to stay informed.

Tuesday, May 18, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Chairwoman Lisa Cupid and Cobb Elections Director Janine Eveler are hosting a town hall on voting and recent election law changes 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, May 18. It will be held at Jennie T. Anderson Theatre, Cobb Civic Center, 548 S. Marietta Parkway, Marietta.

Participants will hear a recap of the 2020 elections, review Senate Bill 202 and its potential impact, ask questions and share their input. You can submit your questions to comments@cobbcounty.org.
On-site voter registration will also be available. Masks are required for the in-person town hall. You can also watch live and participate via facebook.com/cobbcountygovernment or youtube.com/cobbcountygovt.

District Four Town Hall, hosted by Commissioner Monique Sheffield
Cobb County Public Safety Police Training Academy, 2435 East-West Connector, Austell

Hear updates on all things District Four, including development and 2022 SPLOST projects. Cobb and Douglas Public Health staff will be on hand for an information session and to administer the vaccine at the town hall. Cobb DOT staff will also present information and details for the Cobb Transportation Plan. The mobility SPLOST will be on the November 2022 referendum and DOT will be in attendance to answer your questions and share Cobb’s plan for transportation. The town hall will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual.

District One Town Hall, hosted by Commissioner Keli Gambrill
Lost Mountain Park, 4845 Dallas Highway, Powder Springs

This outdoor town hall will focus on parks and roads. The meeting will include special guests Kimberly White of Keep Cobb Beautiful, Dallas Cain and Drew Raessler of Cobb DOT and William Tanks of the Cobb Public Services Agency. DOT staff will also share information about the Cobb Transportation Plan.

This event will concentrate on Cobb and Douglas Public Health’s effort to help Cobb residents receive a COVID vaccination and provide the opportunity for residents to receive a vaccination.
