VIDEO UPDATE - The Oversight Committee formed to conduct independent air monitoring around Cobb’s Sterigenics plant received their first report today.  The environmental engineering company GHD briefed the group on the first three days of testing. Watch the video to find out more. Some important details:

• The tests were conducted while the Sterigenics plant was NOT operating.

• 80% of the monitors positioned in Smyrna, Cobb, and Atlanta did NOT detect ethylene oxide.

• Those monitors that DID detect ethylene oxide matched what is considered “background” readings found in much of the country.

• Testing has paused but will resume after the Sterigenics facility resumes normal operation.
