Disaster teams scoured some Cobb County neighborhoods today, doing another assessment of the damage caused by the flash floods of September 7th and 8th.  Cobb County Emergency Management Director Cassie Mazloom led a group of FEMA, GEMA, and SBA (Small Business Administration) officials as they looked at some of the neighborhoods around Marietta and East Cobb where some of the worst flooding occurred.

Cobb EMA received hundreds of reports from residents in the days following the storm that their homes were damaged by floodwaters, erosion, or sinkholes.

The groups will use their assessment to determine whether any sort of disaster declaration is appropriate.  If so, loans or other assistance could be made available to help with repairs.
