Chief Deputy of Cobb County Sonya Allen Sworn-In

Chief Allen takes oath of office

Marietta, GA (August 21, 2019) -- The Cobb County Sheriff's office swore-in Chief Deputy Sonya Allen in a ceremony presided over by Judge Greg Poole. Sheriff Neil Warren and officers and staff from the agency were in attendance at the event, which was held at the Superior Court Ceremonial Courtroom.

Chief Allen has been employed with the Sheriff’s Office since 1992. She grew up in Cobb County and graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1987. She attended the University of West Georgia where she obtained her Bachelors of Science Degree in 1991 and John Marshall Law School receiving her Juris Doctorate in 1999.

Throughout her career at the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office she has been assigned to Detention, Marietta/Cobb/Smyrna Narcotics Unit, Field Operations, Fugitive, Court Services, Criminal Investigations Unit, Inspectional Services and the Administrative Division. She was also assigned to the Executive Office where she oversaw legal, legislative, budgeting and contractual services for the agency.
