Keep Cobb Beautiful is a hybrid organization comprised of County staff members and a non-profit board of directors created for the purpose of “assisting the County and Board of Commissioners in establishing, promoting and maintaining a countywide policy for improved environmental and waste management.”
Keep Cobb Beautiful Inc. is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful (KAB), a national, non-profit public education organization dedicated to improving waste handling practices in American communities. Keep America Beautiful educates millions of Americans on all aspects of waste handling and solid waste issues. KCB is also a member of the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation.
Who We Are
KCB is made up of dedicated volunteers from all walks of life joined together to foster public awareness through sponsoring events that improve our environment. KCB can do this by adhering to our Mission Statement:
“Promoting stewardship of our communities through litter prevention, beautification, recycling and environmental education”.
Keep Cobb Beautiful, Inc. is funded by the Cobb County Government, recycling revenues, and private contributions. Keep Cobb Beautiful, Inc. is a 501-c3 non-profit organization.

Ordinance of 9-25-84; Cobb County Code Section 3-2-10; Amendment of 3-9-93 regarding method of appointment; Amendment of 4-14-98 to change the name of Cobb Clean Commission to Keep Cobb Beautiful, Inc. Code Section 102-111.
Description
The Board consists of eighteen (18) members who serve a minimum two (2) year term which can be extended. Each board member is a volunteer, who was either appointed by one of the five Cobb County Board of Commissioners (BOC), there are three appointments from each Commissioner, or appointed by one of the six (6) municipalities in Cobb County.
The Board members are a diverse group of concerned citizens who represent local businesses, industry, communications, community and civic organizations, and educational institutions.
The qualifications, method of selection, procedure for removal and method of filling vacancies is determined by each appointing entity (Commissioner or Municipality) for its respective appointments. This Board only has advisory authority for recommending refuse, waste and environmental management policies to the BOC, and with a goal that all refuse and clean community activities follow a common purpose.
