Every year, Cobb Water partners with the National Park Service’s Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area to facilitate outdoor educational field trips for title-one elementary schools at Sibley Pond.
Due to the current pandemic, we’ve decided to “virtualize” our annual Sibley Pond field trip and make it accessible for distanced learners. The subjects studied include Food Web, Decomposes, Wildlife, and Pond Study. This grant-funded program is part of EKO (Every Kid Outdoors), a national program that allows the students and family members access to federal parks and other public lands to discover our wildlife, resources, and history and to inspires good stewardship for national parks and public lands.
