Join us for a day of service and educational opportunities at our Covid responsible Wonder of Water Weekend events!

About this Event

Wonder of Water Weekend is a statewide cooperative event in conjunction with the 2021 Georiga Adopt-A-Stream Confluence, Georgia's official volunteer water quality monitoring program's annual conference. Cobb County Water System is hosting three volunteer opportunities to honor the first ever Wonder of Water Weekend. During the event, water conservation giveaways will also be available at informational booths. Pre-registration is required and separate for each service project. All service projects meet at trailhead parking lot.

9:00am-10:30am: Noonday Habitat Demonstration Site Workday
Join us at Noonday Creek to remove invasive plants from our ongoing streambank stabilization site. This is a great opportunity to see and participate in an active stabilization project in its early phases.

11:00am-1:00pm: Storm Drain Marking Teams will mark the storm drains in a nearby neighborhood, pick up litter, and distribute packets to each home to educate them on the newly marked storm drains.

1:30pm-3:00pm: Stream Cleanup Help clean Noonday Creek and keep litter from reaching the Chattahoochee River. We will provide you with all necessary equipment for the stream cleanup. Wear clothes that can get wet and closed-toes shoes like tennis shoes or water shoes. If you have your own pair of rubber boots or waders, you could bring them.
