Stilesboro Road Near Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park to Close Starting May 8
Water line work expected to last through fall

Beginning Tuesday, May 6, contractors for the Cobb County Department of Transportation and the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority (CCMWA) will start work to close Stilesboro Road to replace and upgrade an underground water pipeline beneath the roadway's centerline. This closure will occur in three phases and is also part of pre-construction work for the proposed roundabouts at Old 41 Highway.

Closure Timeline:
    •    Phase 1: Gilbert Road to Old Mountain Road — Begins Thursday, May 8
    •    Phase 2: Old Mountain Road to NPS Visitor Center Drive — Expected to begin in early August
    •    Phase 3: Old 41 Highway to NPS Visitor Center Drive — Expected to begin in late September
