A new traffic flow has been implemented permanently in the Vinings area at the Paces Ferry Road/Paces Mill Road intersection as part of the Paces Ferry Road improvements project (X2318).  Drivers on Paces Mill Road will no longer be able to make a left onto Paces Ferry Road towards Atlanta. Instead, drivers will need to proceed to the next intersection and make a left onto New Paces Ferry Road, which connects to Paces Ferry Road a little farther south of the Paces Ferry Road/Paces Mill Road intersection.

Anyone familiar with the Vinings area is familiar with the traffic back up at the Paces Ferry Road/Paces Mill Road intersection. “Expanding the intersection was not an option because we have to protect the historic assets and the community identity in this area,” according to Karyn Matthews, Cobb DOT project manager. "This new traffic flow allows us to relieve congestion at this intersection in a way that is sensitive to the surrounding community."
