MSPLOST Public Involvement

Opportunities for Input

The county is actively seeking public input on the key questions surrounding the referenda and investment options.

Town Halls

Because of recent changes in Georgia law, the county has the option to ask the public to approve one or two referenda for additional sales tax revenues. The public was asked to provide opinions on these two sales tax options and possible project combinations during the CobbForward Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) update (in progress). The Cobb County Board of Commissioners has asked for additional public input to help refine the policy direction and funding packages for each option.

The purpose of this town hall is to provide information on Cobb Mobility SPLOST, including:

  • How this differs from the SPLOST referendum approved by voters in November 2020
  • The referenda options available
  • Initial investment options identified based on data and public input from the 2021 Comprehensive Transportation Plan Update (in progress)
  • Public involvement opportunities to provide input on these options
