Neighborhood Centers

Cobb County residents age 60 and better enjoy structured group activities and programs such as music, crafts, exercise, and special events. Each weekday a hot, nutritious lunch is served in a personal, friendly atmosphere. Nutrition and health/wellness educational programs are also offered.

Door-to-door transportation can be provided based on eligibility.

Register for Classes and Activities

Senior Services offers activities at each of our Senior Centers. Click to view all of our available activities and register for any you like!

Registration and Cancellation

Registration Is Required for All Activities

Payment for each class is due in full at the time of registration, and may be made with cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Classes may not be taken on a pay as you go basis. Class payments by check or money order should be made payable to Cobb Senior Services.

Telephone and mail in registrations cannot be accepted. All class and supply fees must be paid at the time of registration. Please take note of class meeting times as some classes may have designated breaks.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy

Registration fees are 100% refundable when the department cancels the activity. A participant wishing to withdraw from a class that has not been cancelled by the department must provide a request at least seven days before the scheduled start of the class. They may receive 100% credit to the family's account or may request a refund. Within the week prior to the scheduled start of a class refund/credits will not be given except for verified medical/hardship cases. Refunds for payment made by cash or check will be received approximately 2-4 weeks after the refund is requested.  Senior Services and Therapeutic Recreation Services Special Events and Trips are non-refundable.

Inclement Weather Policy

When Cobb County Schools are closed due to inclement weather, classes, events and programs will be postponed to a later date. The Center will be opened for drop-in activities if staff can safely open the Center; call to confirm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a membership fee required to use a senior center ?

Yes, CSS membership is required to participate in activities and events at all of the senior centers. Membership is on an annual basis, determined by the date you enroll. Your CSS membership is valid at all Cobb County senior centers.

Cobb county residents: $60 per year
Non-Cobb residents: $90 per year

I wish to participate in senior center activities. Do I need to use the one nearest my house?

No, seniors (age 55 and above) are welcome to participate in trips, classes, special events and designated ongoing activities at any of the five senior centers. For information about each center, please refer to our facilities page.

What's a good way to get involved at a senior center?

What activities you participate in and how often are up to you! Signing up for monthly day trips, lunch & learn programs, classes or ongoing activities are good ways to meet others and wonderful ways to get you started. Call the centers for specific details and join the fun!

Do you have dances at the senior centers?

Some of the centers have dance clubs that meet at their facilities regularly. Check with the center nearest you for a schedule.

Do you have pool tables at the senior centers?

Pool tables are available at West Cobb, East Cobb, North Cobb and Freeman Poole. They are available for use from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, unless there is a prearranged class or program.

What other activities do senior centers offer?

The seniors centers provide nutrition, health, counseling and educational programs, exercise classes and recreational trips. Leisure activities, such as music, arts and crafts, games, and special events are also offered. The centers are open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

Are the senior centers available for rent to non-senior groups?

The centers are available for senior groups to use as a meeting space based upon availability of rooms and dates, during regular business hours. The centers are not available for private parties or non-senior groups. An application for rental or room reservation is to be filled out and returned to the center, where availability will be checked by the facility coordinator.
