I wish to participate in senior center activities. Do I need to use the one nearest my house?

No, seniors (age 55 and above) are welcome to participate in trips, classes, special events and designated ongoing activities at any of the five senior centers. For information about each center, please refer to our facilities page.

What's a good way to get involved at a senior center?

What activities you participate in and how often are up to you! Signing up for seminars, lunch & learn programs, classes or ongoing activities are good ways to meet others and wonderful ways to get you started. Call the centers for specific details and join the fun!

Do you have dances at the senior centers?

Some of the centers have dance clubs that meet at their facilities regularly. Check with the center nearest you for a schedule.

Do you have pool tables at the senior centers?

Pool tables are available at West Cobb, Tim Lee, North Cobb and Freeman Poole. They are available for use from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, unless there is a prearranged class or program.

What other activities do senior centers offer?

The seniors centers provide nutrition, health, educational programs, exercise classes and recreational trips. Leisure activities, such as music, arts and crafts, games, and special events are also offered. The centers are open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

Are the senior centers available for rent?

Cobb County Senior Services (CCSS) makes meeting rooms available as an extension of our services for Cobb community organizations/groups that have minimum of 85% of its members who are Cobb residents age 55+.

Do you offer transportation to the senior centers?

Transportation services are provided to Austell, Marietta, and North Cobb for seniors who have been determined eligible by an assessment as needing the service. 

Do you provide transportation outside of Cobb County?

No, but CobbLinc does have routes that travel to MARTA and GRTA stops. Visit their Routes and Schedules page for more information.
