The Police Athletic League has enhanced its athletic programs and now offers a competitive track program, football camp, soccer camp, and baseball camp. PAL teaches skills such as the importance of fair play, working as a team player, and good sportsmanship.
Registration is open to the public for children between the ages of five and fifteen.
The baseball camp is one of the most well attended programs with over 150 kids participating in just 2 evenings. Each year the team receives donations from the local organizations for the camp attendees.

Baseball Camp

Registration is open to Cobb County residents with children between the ages of 7– 16 years. Day one of camp is for children ages 7-11 and day two is for children ages 12-16. Football Camp
The football camp began in 2009, prior to the establishment of Cobb PAL and was incorporated into PAL in 2011. Over the 11 years the 3-day program has hosted up to 100 campers each year, ranging in age from 10-17.

Martial Arts
The martial arts program is typically attended by 40-45 students each year prior to the pandemic. The students had the opportunity to show off the skills they learned during several Cobb County events.

Mentoring
Prior to the pandemic the mentoring program operated in 2 Cobb County Middle Schools, Daniell & Lindley Middle with approximately 40 mentees. Police officers and public safety personnel serving as mentors, work with the youth after school.

Midnight Basketball
The midnight basketball program Friday and Saturday evening (8PM – Midnight) for boys ages 12-17. The first hour of the program incorporates a Life Skills Workshop where speakers of various backgrounds/expertise come out to speak with the boys, offering advice, guidance, inspiration, and education.

Soccer Camp
In 2018 soccer camp was held at the Atlanta United Training grounds on Franklin Gateway. Over the 2-day camp approximately 100 participants learn basic skills, techniques and good sportsmanship.

Stepping
The STEP program had approximately 15-21 kids enrolled during its season, which generally runs from August to March. The students performed at the Special Olympics each year, Cobb Police Awards Ceremony and Middle & High Schools’ Black History Month programs.

Track
The track & field program has evolved into a nationally recognized program compiled of GRPA State Champions, AAU and USATF National Qualifiers and AAU and USATF All-Americans ages 8u – 17. The cornerstone of the track program is mandatory parent involvement. Parents of Cobb PAL kids also serve as volunteers, assisting at meets and practices.
