I don't remember my library card number and/or PIN. What should I do?

To retrieve your library card number, please visit any of our 15 libraries with your current ID. Staff will verify your name and address and provide you with your library card number.

To retrieve your PIN, please visit any of our 15 libraries with your library card. Staff may ask you to verify your information with your current ID. You may also call any of our 15 libraries or our Customer Service Department at (770) 528-2326. Staff will ask for your library card number. Names and addresses will not be accepted over the phone in lieu of a library card number.

Do I have to be in the library to use these resources? Can I use them from home?

Nearly all of our online resources are available to use outside of our libraries. The notable exceptions are Ancestry and FamilySearch. You must be in the library to use these two resources.

Why am I being asked for a password or to log in to use a resource?

When using many of our resources and databases remotely (anywhere outside of our libraries), you may be asked to enter a password or to log in with your library card number and PIN. This allows the resource or database to authenticate you as a Cobb County library cardholder.
