Cobb County Public Library launched the Health and Wellness Resources webpage on its cobbcat.org site on Monday.

The new webpage is designed to provide access to healthy living resources, links to information on how to meet healthcare needs, and community and personal health education resources.

Cobb library staff members are asked often by library patrons questions about how to navigate health information sources. The Health and Wellness Resources page provides access to information in books and eBooks, courses and webinars; and databases and online resources.

Among the topics are healthcare for all age groups; nutrition, self-care, a range of diseases and conditions, pharmaceuticals, teen psychology, cardiology, neurology, healthcare law, healthcare workforce development, consumer guides and dozens more.

Online resources featured by the site include Craftsy instructional videos on creative activities including gardening, yoga and others, and health-related digital magazines free for Cobb County library cardholders through the Libby platform.

Cobb County library officials say promoting community health is a top priority. Collaboration with local, state and national organizations makes possible several of the CCPL community health initiatives. Links to Cobb & Douglas Public Health, UGA Cobb Extension, Cobb Senior Services, and Let’s Move in Libraries, a national initiative, are highlighted on the site.

“Our libraries do a great job offering programs dedicated to healthy living and well-being,” said Virtual Librarian Shannon Tyner. “As a central place to access key information on health and wellness resources provided by the library and the community, this webpage underscores our unwavering commitment to providing services for improving lives.”
