Diverse Verses - Evening Poetry Reading with Christopher Martin and Jenny Sadre-Orafai
Please join the library in celebrating National Poetry Month. You are invited to hear a compelling and insightful poetry reading by Christopher Martin and Jenny Sadre-Orafai. Books by the poets will be available for purchase at the event.
Christopher Martin is author of the poetry collection Firmament (Wandering Aengus Press, forthcoming 2023), which won the Wandering Aengus Book Award, and the essay collection This Gladdening Light (Mercer UP, 2017), for which he received the Georgia Author of the Year Award in Memoir and the Will D. Campbell Award in Creative Nonfiction. He is also author of three poetry chapter books.
Jenny Sadre-Orafai is a poet and essayist and the author of Paper Cotton Leather, Malak, and Dear Outsiders and co-author of Book of Levitations. Her poetry has appeared in Puerto del Sol, Cream City Review, Ninth Letter, and The Cortland Review. Her prose has appeared in The Rumpus, Fourteen Hills, and The Los Angeles Review. She co-founded and co-edits Josephine Quarterly and teaches creative writing at Kennesaw State University.
