Blackout Poetry
Most people think of poetry as adding and combining words, but Blackout Poetry is the opposite of that. You start with a page full of words and cross them out to create unique works of poetry. Some writers just use a marker to cross out words on the page, but others let their imagination fly when deciding what the final project should look like.
National Poetry Month is in April, and South Cobb Regional Library is going to start offering you the chance to make your own black out poetry in March that we will display in April.
You can stop by the circulation desk for a kit, but you can also bring in submissions that are made using your own old books.
This program is for everyone, and poems will be accepted throughout March and April. In order to be displayed, poems must be rated PG-13 or below.
If you are unable to submit completed poems in person, they can be emailed to Amanda.Sanders@cobbcounty.org
