Solar Eclipse Viewing

Monday, 4/08/2024 - Monday, 4/08/2024
01:45pm - 04:00pm

Although it won't be a total eclipse of the sun in Georgia this year, the Atlanta area will have an 81% totality.

Viewing begins at  1:45 PM, with peak view at 3:04 PM. We will be handing out one pair of viewing glasses per family

We'll have crafts for the whole family! Make a solar bracelet that changes colors and create eclipse chalk art!

Inside the branch we will  have our big screen TV streaming live coverage on the NASA channel. “This year’s total solar eclipse will be at least partially visible to all in the contiguous United States,
making it the most accessible eclipse this nation has experienced in this generation,” said Nicola Fox, associate administrator, Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington..
