Powder Springs' One Book, One City Event: Author Talk and Book Signing

Saturday, 4/13/2024 - Saturday, 4/13/2024
06:00pm - 07:00pm

One Book, One City is a citywide literary event that encourages members of the Powder Springs community to read the same book at the same time. This is a joint venture between the City of Powder Springs, the Book Worm Bookstore, and the Powder Springs Public Library. Through reading and discussing one book, we hope to help bring the community closer together and to make reading a lifelong pursuit.

The book selected this year is The Overnights: An Ashe Cayne Novel  by Dr. Ian K. Smith.

“#1 New York Times bestselling author Ian K. Smith brings back former Chicago detective turned private eye Ashe Cayne in this eagerly anticipated mystery in which the investigator finds himself in a race against the clock to protect a high-profile Chicago news anchor and solve the racially charged murder of a Black teen by a white police officer.”

We encourage everyone in our community to read The Overnights and then join us on April 13 at 6:00pm for an author talk and community-wide book discussion. Dr. Smith will be giving us insights about his book, and then we will open up questions to the audience for discussion. He will also be available to sign copies of his books.

This event will take place at the Thurman Springs Park’s Hardy Family Automotive Amphitheater (4485 Pineview Dr, Powder Springs, GA 30127).

For more information about this event, please reach out to the Powder Springs Public Library (770-439-3600) or the Book Worm Bookstore (770-439-2029).
