Recount Ordered in Georgia House District 37 Race

Elections Workers to Conduct Recount on Friday

From Cobb County Board of Elections and Registrations Director Janine Eveler;

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-495(c), a recount for the Georgia House District 37 race has been requested by Sam Teasley and will be conducted on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Each candidate may be present in person or by representative at such recount.  The recount will be conducted at the Elections and Registration Office located at 736 Whitlock Ave., Marietta, GA 30064. 

Certified results had Democrat Mary Frances Williams winning the race with 50.34% of the vote.  Republican Sam Teasley had 49.61%.  They were separated by 173 votes. 

Eveler says the Board of Elections and Registration is tentatively set to meet at noon on Friday to certify the recount.
