Cobb County's Board of Commissioners has named Dr. Jatunn Gibson as the new head of Senior Services.  Interim Director Sandee Panichi was named as Deputy Director. 

Jatunn Gibson, Ph.D., has over 25 years of experience in healthcare.  Dr. Gibson has spent the last 12 years of her career working in various roles to manage, implement and evaluate programs in academia and community settings. These programs focused on the health of the aging population and caregivers. As an Assistant Professor/Extension Specialist in Gerontology and Assistant Director of Family and Consumer Sciences, she was responsible for statewide program implementation, supervising staff and managing grant funds on the local, state, and national levels. 

She has also managed a national program to improve the housing conditions of low-income, older adults.  Dr. Gibson maintains her certification as a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) and Certified Aging in Place Specialist. 

She is very involved in her church and continues her community engagement through her membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
