Cobb under a Heat Advisory - MUST to open cooling shelter

HEAT ADVISORY

Cobb County is under a Heat Advisory from noon through 8 pm Tuesday, and these conditions could persist throughout the week. Heat index values from 105 to 110 are expected. The temperatures plus high humidity could lead to heat-related illness.

The MUST Ministries Cooling Center opens in the new MUST Hope House at​ 1297 Bells Ferry Road, Marietta, any time the temperature is 90 degrees or hotter. The center opens on weekdays at 9 a.m. and closes at 7:30 p.m., allowing clients to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an air-conditioned facility. On weekends, the center is open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. While there, clients are able to access MUST services including showers, laundry, job coaching, clothing, case management, and water/snacks. Located in the outreach center of the MUST Hope House, the Outreach Program is typically open 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. when temperatures are not extremely high or extremely low.
