The Town Center Mall at Cobb closed early on January 28, 2025, after power was turned off for delinquent bills.

Cobb County Statement:

Cobb County officials are closely monitoring the situation at Town Center Mall.

Our Police and Fire Departments have taken immediate steps to ensure the safety and security of the property and surrounding neighborhood. We are also working with the mall’s property management to develop a longer-term plan to maintain security until the mall can reopen.

County leaders are committed to exploring all available resources to support the businesses within the mall and the employees who depend on them.

Cobb County Fire Marshal's Office:

The Cobb County Fire Marshal’s Office was notified of a power loss affecting the fire protection systems in certain areas of Town Center Mall. On January 28, 2025, fire inspectors confirmed that some fire protection systems were operating on temporary battery power.

As a precaution, a Fire Watch was implemented to supplement the fire protection systems while they remain out of service and are being repaired. A Fire Watch is a temporary safety measure requiring the property management or owner to monitor the affected areas and notify occupants that critical fire protection systems—such as alarms, fire pumps, emergency exit signs, and lighting—may not be functioning properly.

Fire Marshal personnel are working closely with county officials and the mall's property management team to develop a long-term solution.
