The Boil Water Advisory for south Cobb County HAS BEEN LIFTED.  Test results show no contamination to Cobb County’s water supply from Tuesday’s water main break and repair.

A break in a Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority mainline forced crews to cut water to make repairs.  That resulted in low water pressure to part of the Cobb County Water System.  After some initial study, the system issued a Boil Water Advisory for a section of the southern part of the county until testing could be done.

After Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority completed its comprehensive water quality testing, data shows that the water is safe for consumption.  Affected customers no longer need to boil water before drinking or cooking.

The boil water advisory has been lifted but repairs to the 36-inch main are still underway.  Some customers affected by the break may experience intermittent low pressure and discolored water until the repair is complete.  If you experience discolored water, flush your lines by opening the cold water faucet and letting the water run for several minutes.

Updates will be published as they become available from the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority.  We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
