October 14 |  Crews are expected to spend at least Monday and Tuesday doing a thorough cleaning of the Cobb Animal Services shelter on Al Bishop Drive.  Several dogs died after coming down with Streptococcus Zooepidemicus ("strep zoo") earlier this month.

The shelter has been closed and locked down since the diagnosis, and every dog and cat in the facility received antibiotic treatment.  No other animal has shown signs of strep zoo, and are being monitored by veterinarians.  If all goes well, the shelter could reopen Friday after the two-week period ends.
