The Board of Commissioners presents the Cobb District Attorney's office with a proclamation declaring Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Human Trafficking is a crime that harms the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. After passing the Trafficking Victims Protection Act 25 years ago, an estimated 27.6 million people are still subjected to human trafficking globally, with cases reported in every U.S. state and territory. We, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim January as Human Trafficking Prevention Month, reaffirming our commitment to raising awareness, improving education, providing resources, and building diverse public-private partnerships to support a more coordinated and comprehensive response. |
