Cobb County Safety Village will be built on a 3.5 acre site and will be developed into the most comprehensive safety training environment in the region where our residents and business community can gain knowledge through hands on experiences....a place where the walls come alive with knowledge while instructors share the most advanced techniques and ideas for making our community safer. Local organizations will construct reduced-scale buildings at a limited number of sites in the safety village. These life like streets will include sidewalks, traffic signals and a variety of structures that represent our community. The structures will become an integral part of the learning experience.
We as a community spend an incredible amount of time and money trying to manage risk on every level. We reduce our risk by employing technology from dead bolt locks and smoke detectors to seat belts and safety glass. But even with all the technology at our disposal children still die in accidents, criminals continue take advantage of our seniors and our roadways remain too dangerous.
Education is the key to reducing risk and protecting our community. By reaching out to all our citizens we can teach them important safety techniques, provide guidance on crime prevention and most importantly involve them in hands on learning experience. Cobb Safety Village will do more than present safety information; it will teach and train participants how to react when faced with dangerous situations. As adults we can easily recall those unique learning experiences we had as children. That one special teacher that allowed students to build, explore and feel the value of the lesson being presented. Research confirms that knowledge gained through hands on learning remains with us far longer than simple presentations of fact.
Cobb County wants to construct the most comprehensive safety training environment in the region where our residents and business community can gain knowledge through hands on experiences. A place where the walls come alive with knowledge while instructors share the most advanced techniques and ideas for making our community safer.
Our philosophy is simple Tell me and I will forget; Show me and I may remember; Involve me and I will understand.
Cobb County has a tradition of providing excellent service and value to our community. We don’t take a step without first
considering the value, impact, risk and benefit of every project. The concept of creating a safety village in our community
has been thoroughly assessed. As the project gained support among community leaders we sought additional partners that share
our commitment to safety education.
Our Team
We developed a plan to involve our entire community in safety education and to construct the “Cobb County Safety Village”. A 3.5 acre site located near the center of Cobb County which will be developed into a dynamic learning environment for our residents.
Our mission is to provide the highest quality safety education and training available to enable our citizens to prepare and protect themselves and others from accidental death, injury, and destruction of property resulting from accidents, disasters, and threat of harm.
Programs at the village will include:
Many of us enjoy being involved in the community. The reward of community involvement is the pride and knowledge that you have had a positive impact on others. The opportunity to save a life through safety education is the ultimate reward for both individuals and corporations choosing to partner with us at the “Cobb County Safety Village”. Local organizations are invited to construct reduced-scale buildings at a limited number of sites in the safety village. These life like streets will include sidewalks, traffic signals and a variety of structures that represent our community. The structures will become an integral part of the learning experience.
Your organization can purchase a concrete construction pad and build a replica of your office, storefront or favorite community feature. |
